Unison Color

PygmaliART is proud to partner with a company that makes its pastels by hand, as is the case with Unison Color. This company was founded by artist John Hersey. Not finding a pastel on the market that met all his criteria, he decided to create his own. According to Hersey, the pastels on the market broke easily, did not have a uniform texture, and did not reflect his vision of color. For several years, he worked on production methods, color sequences and the texture of his pigment mixtures. This is how the “Unison Color Soft” pastel you know and love today was created.

Unison Color is based in the Tarset Valley in the Northumberland National Park in England. Every year, almost half a million handmade soft pastels are made!
