Create a connection, not a discount.
Create an event. Nourish an ecosystem.
At the Pigeon family, we go into business to help.
Yes, we want to make a living from our business — who wouldn't?
But it is not profit that motivates us first.
It's the desire to be useful .
To make a real difference, in our own way.
And this difference, for me, comes through art.
Because visual art is not just a hobby .
It's a language. A way of building oneself, of connecting, of forming a society.
Around this practice, there is an ecosystem: artists, associations, businesses, places of diffusion.
And when everyone plays their part with heart — moving forward together toward a common goal —
support creation, give it back its place ,
So we start building something else. Something bigger than ourselves.
This is what we try to do, every day, at PygmaliART.
When collaboration becomes creation
When Diane Saint-Pierre of the Canadian Watercolour Society asked me to co-create an event for—and with—watercolourists,
I knew right away that I couldn't say no .
She wasn't asking me for a sponsorship.
She invited me to contribute to something living, something real .
A project designed to move things forward, concretely, for a community of passionate artists.
And that's exactly what I'm trying to do: Contribute. Be present. Get involved. Create a connection.
Because for me, creation is vital .
Each one their own color, but in the same painting
You might think that in a project with several heads, the roles get mixed up.
But no. Everyone knew exactly what they were offering.
-
Diane Saint-Pierre was the bridge. She was able to connect L'Eau Vive, PygmaliART, and the SCA in a single movement.
Her role as weaver, ferryman, guardian of meaning—as discreet as it is essential—made all this possible. -
The L'Eau Vive Association hosted the event, mobilized its community, offered its roots, its energy, its generosity.
And the volunteers ? They were simply there to make the collective shine. A precious, humble, and sincere presence. -
PygmaliART brought the materials, the sensory approach, the concern to create a real, embodied experience.
Not just products : materials to feel, to test, to bring to life.
And together, without seeking to lead or disappear, we saw a simple but accurate choreography emerge.
What we gave artists… and why it matters
Before finalizing the program, we surveyed the watercolorists :
-
What are you missing?
-
What would you really like to try?
-
What would make a real difference for you?
And it is their responses that guided our choices.
Because an ecosystem is also built by listening to those it is supposed to nourish .
This event was not a promotional trade show.
It was an experience .
We wanted the artists to experience the materials.
Not just seeing them. Not just hearing about them.
Touch them. Compare them. Feel them.
🎨 They were guided through a structured journey, with a selection chosen in collaboration with them :
-
Schmincke supergranulants , which create a unique dance of textures.
-
The unique colors of Pop Pigments , artisanal, unexpected, full of personality.
-
Baohong and Hahnemühle Cézanne 100% cotton papers , two feelings, two ways of vibrating.
-
Rosemary & Co brushes , sensitive, precise, made to last.
But we didn't stop there.
They were also able to see the materials in action , in the fluid gesture of Diane Saint-Pierre,
during a free, generous and lively demonstration —
where water, paper and pigment told their stories differently .
And for those who wanted to go even further,
a step-by-step workshop , in a small group, allowed them to explore the materials in a creative context .
Not in the head. In the hand.
And now?
It was just one of many possible events.
But he carried within him everything that we want to continue to build :
-
True partnerships.
-
A sincere listening to the needs of artists.
-
A human, sensory, embodied experience.
At PygmaliART, we want to continue co-creating with those who believe that art deserves more than a shelf in a store.
We want to contribute to a living, generous, and human ecosystem.
So if you are part of an association, a group, an artistic collective —
and that this way of working speaks to you...
Write to me. Let's propose. Let's dream. Let's create.
Together we can weave something else.
Something beautiful, fair, alive.
Because that's how we get things done.
And that creation — always begins with a connection .
